what's the F&C custom creation process? here's a peek at our collaborative flow.

 

With each step of the F&C process you'll be chatting with both Amelia & Torrey as we work together to bring you our most thoughtful ideas and brightest design solutions. We each bring a special skillset to our Custom Creations and take turns overseeing different aspects of the project, from sketching to scheduling design calls to sourcing materials and testing build techniques–we're committed to meeting your needs in a fun and approachable way. 

 

1. SAY HELLO

The entire process starts with you and your needs. Reach out and share your ideas and any special project requirements. Don't let the first step stress you out–it'll just start the conversation and you're not committing to a thing.  

2. F&C REVIEWS YOUR REQUEST

After we receive your request via email or our custom creation form, we'll review your request and get the design brainstorm started to determine if it's in our wheelhouse. Then we'll be in touch for more info or with next steps. 

3. SCHEDULE A BRIEF CHAT

If your project seems like a good fit for F&C's custom creations and services, we'll schedule a phone call, in-person meetup or video chat to discuss the specifics of your project. Design chats typically last 15-20 minutes and allow us to learn more about you and your needs for the project. We'll share our initial ideas based on your request, including material recommendations and loose pricing. Depending on the type of your request, we may have a few simple sketches to share at this stage. 

4. F&C SHARES DESIGN PROPOSAL & SKETCHES

Once we get a good feel for your project, we'll collaborate in our studio to work out all the design and material recommendations. A few days or weeks after our phone call you'll receive a PDF Design Proposal with sketches, dimensions, materials selections, customization options, pricing, production timeline, delivery and install info and other specific details about your custom creation.

 

5. DESIGN PROPOSAL REVIEW & EDITS

After you receive our Design Proposal, let us know what you think. Feel free to spend some time with our proposal, ask questions, suggest revisions and make sure it's what you want and need. We're happy to schedule another chat and revise the proposal until it's just right. 

6. CUSTOM CREATION DEPOSIT & BUILD TIMELINE

When you've decided our Design Proposal is right for you, you'll officially hire F&C to create your project by submitting 50% of the project total. We accept all major credit cards, Venmo, Paypal, cash and other popular forms of payment. During this step we'll add you to our production schedule and will share a realistic timeline for your project's build aka the amount of time it'll take to have it snuggly in your space. 

7. CHECK-INS & ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS 

As we work to create your project, we'll be in touch with timeline updates or bumps in the road. It's rare that we have major setbacks but sometimes things happen and we'll do our best to keep you in the loop. 

8. SCHEDULE PICK-UP, DELIVERY OR SHIPPING & FINAL PAYMENT

Your custom creation is ready for its new home! We'll reach out to determine the best way to get the project to you. F&C offers free delivery for Custom Creations needing delivery within a 5 mile radius of Austin's Windsor Park (78723 zip code). We'll include delivery and/or shipping estimates in our Design Proposal for clients outside of our delivery zone. Free pick-up from the F&C studios is always available but must be scheduled in advance. Final payment is due when scheduling delivery, local pick-up or shipping. 

9. ENJOY YOUR NEW F&C CUSTOM CREATION

Add your personal items and start using your new F&C creation. Don't forget to share photos once you've got everything set up!
